Emergency Stop Buttons on Ironers can save the operators from being seriously injured or death. It is most important that all operators know where all the emergency stop buttons are on the Ironer before being allowed to operate the Ironer.
How to protect yourself & others
Ensure you and your co-workers know where all the emergency stop buttons are on the Ironer including Feeders and Stackers before you operate the ironer.
Perform regular tests to ensure your emergency stop buttons are operational
Report malfunctions/ faulty stop buttons to your Supervisor immediately
If you have not been shown where the emergency stop buttons are on the Ironer, ask your Supervisor
Press the emergency stop button immediately for any emergency
Do Not
Do not operate the Ironer if you have not been shown where the emergency top buttons are.
Do not wait for someone else to push the emergency stop button in an emergency
Do not remove jammed items from Ironer whilst operational
Do not remove items from behind safety guards whilst Ironer is operational
Do not restart the machine until you have checked with your co-workers to ensure they are not in danger of being injured
