Drugs and Alcohol
It is against the law under the OHSW Act to put yourself or
any other person in the workplace at risk by being under
the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
How to protect yourself
- Tell your Supervisor if you are taking medication;
(like those used for allergies) can cause drowsiness when
driving or operating machinery.
- Attend work free of alcohol or drugs
- Abide by your workplaces policies and procedures
regarding Alcohol and Drugs
- Seek help if you have a drug or alcohol problem
Do Not
- Do not drink excessively the night before work, it is
possible you will still be intoxicated
- Do not come to work under the influence of drugs or
alcohol
- Do not put others at risk by being intoxicated at work
- Do not take drugs or alcohol during work hours
