Collect Soiled Linen

• Treat all linen as if it were infectious
• Check the residents door for any infection notices prior to entering the room
• Prevent infection - Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• Use separate trolleys/bags for soiled and clean linen
• Remove residents linen from bed with care
• Don’t leave linen on the floor – use the correct linen bag
• Soiled linen must be kept separate from clean linen
• Clean linen should be left in the corridor on a clean covered trolley until used
• Remove all soiled linen from room before entering with clean linen
• Always wash hands after handling soiled linen
• Follow Manual Handling Procedures
